Trekking & Hiking

1. TYDA NATURE CAMP or Jungle Bells nature camp near Araku - A scenic destination packed with adventure along with tranquility at a distance of 70Km from Vizag,Tyda Nature Camp is one of the best trekking places.  

2. KAILASAGIRI famous for well developed trekking routes in Vizag. Get ready to drive to the top of the hill and trek near the temple, or walk the entire way, experiencing  trekking.

3.   KATIKI WATERFALLS - A real adventurous trekking point, about 50ft high & steep. Hire jeeps for 15 km to the top to enjoy the experience. Trekking upward along the narrow & dangerously slippery path with waterfall gushing cold water, adds to the adventure and thrill.

4. KAMBALAKONDA - A dry evergreen forest covered with shrubs is considered to be a good picnic spot by tourists. This is popular as a lazy trek & good hunger care 

5. THOTLAKONDA - A Buddhist architecture site around 15 KM away from Vizag . In ancient days, this was a trade center. The journey to the top is mesmerizing & climbing to the apex led to learning of various things.

Hyderabad Trekking Club (HTC) Founder Venkat Reddy said that the city & its surrounding must be explored during monsoon.The natural beauty at this time is unique and refreshing. Hiking and trekking during monsoon is a challenge to fitness level because of the slippery surface and the art of crawling & climbing must be learnt.  

 Vizag Adventure & Trekker's club ( VAT's) - This is an open and non-profit community for trekkers & hikers. Open to everyone with enthusiasm, interest, proper attitude and spirit to join, the club is run by self volunteered members and does not charge anything for joining. However a small amount may be charged for each trek, used for Club maintenance, Stationary & Equipment purchases. The outdoor activities conducted by this club include trekking, rock climbing, scrambling, hiking, rappelling, camping and lots more.

Bayfront Horse Club Pvt Ltd, Visakhapatnam

 A rider center in Visakhapatnam located within the natural beauty of Bay of Bengal and straggling Eastern Ghats, the club is located by the sea at Sagar Nagar on the beach road. The club remains open from 5:30am till 8:00am. Bayfront provides an unparalleled way of exploring the beauty of the city. 

Go- Karting

Go-kart is an open-wheel car in various shapes and forms, starting with high- powered racing machines to models without motors. Go- Karting is entertaining and is getting popular among people for stress-burning.

Skating

FAMOUS SKATING RINK IN VIZAG

VUDA Park or Taraka Rama Park was developed by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) near Rama Krishna Beach. Besides, swimming & boating the most highlighted feature of the park is Roller Skating. The rink is available from 9 am till 8pm to teach skating tricks.The Musical Fountain flashing colorful water to the tune of a cool music is another attraction played at 6:30 PM. It costs Rs. 5/ as an entry ticket allowing people to stay for an unlimited duration.

                        WATER SPORTS ATTRACTION

Vizag with exquisite stretch of virgin beaches along with safe water is a new paradise for adventure lovers.

Secretary of Dolphin Yachting Association, Melville Smythe remarked Vizag to be one of the best places in the world conducting water sports. Adding to this, he said that the sea remains harmless most of the time.

                                                 Scuba Diving by Livein Adventure Club

1.SCUBA DIVING is a growing attraction for the water sports lovers in Vizag. An adventurous sports where scuba divers dive under the sea carrying underwater breathing apparatus. Apart from Andaman, Lakshwadeep, Puducherry and Goa, Vizag is also emerging as a new scuba diving destination in India because of clear water visibility & rich marine life. According to the Director of Livein Adventure- Balaram Naidu, the marine life is very friendly & harmless. Several rare species of electric ray, colorful coral blanket can be spotted under the Vizag seabed by the scuba divers. The best time to experience the thrill of scuba diving is October - February because during the summer the sea is rugged and not clearly visible. 

• Scuba Diving takes place in Rushikonda Beach

2.JET SKIING is a water sport where individuals  jump over waves by riding on a jet ski. This sport is enjoyed by those adventure lovers who find thrill in speed. People from any age group can take part in Jet skiing because experience or practice is not required in it. The cost is Rs. 250 per person approximately.

• Jet Skiing can be done in Rushikonda Beach and backwaters of Mangamaripeta (a small hamlet, situated 16 km from Visakhapatnam Railway Station) from Wednesday to Sunday

3. BANANA RIDE is popular among the crowd in Vizag because of fun factor. A banana shaped boat is pulled by a speed boat into the water. The adventure lovers enjoy thrilling experience of twists and turns. At the end, the speedboat somersaults the banana boat droppings riders into the water. The ride costs around Rs. 150 per person. 

• The sport takes place in Rushikonda Beach and the backwaters of Mangamaripeta from Wednesday to Sunday

4. AQUA ZORBING is a water sport attracting vacationers as well as city residents of Vizag, looking for exciting water sports options. Participants slide inside an inflatable ball which is then released into the waters & the waves give exciting circular and lateral motion. This is enjoyed by people who fear water but still want to get the thrill of water sports.

• Aqua Zorbing is done in Rushikonda beach and the backwaters of Mangamaripeta from Wednesday to Sunday

5. KAYAKING is a recreational, competitive and at the same time an excellent relaxing sport flourishing in Vizag. Kayakers sit upright with extended legs and by left and right paddling stroke pull their kayak through the water. The rider wears life jacket and also a protective helmet. 

• Kayaking is mainly done in Ramakrishna Beach, Mangamaripeta and Rushikonda Beach.

6. SURFING is a popular surface water sport in Vizag in which the wave riders move forward high waves, carrying surfer towards the shore.

A. PARA SAILING or Parascending, is a recreational activity in Vizag. A person is tied behind a boat and a parachute called parasail is attached. The parascender is then made to fly behind as the boat drives off. The sport is filled with fun, thrill and adventure

B. PARAGLIDING is a recreational  sport in Vizag beaches which attracts adventure lovers, across the world. In paragliding, one can get the feeling of flying like a bird. This is full of fun and provides a safe way of experiencing flight in simple way.

• Places of the adventure sport - Jompi and Dumbriguda villages in the Araku region as identified by Andhra pradesh tourism development corporation (APTDC). The gliders are charged Rs 400 for a ride of 5-10 minutes per person.

C. SKY DIVING gives human being an experience of flying like a bird. The city of Vizag is increasingly attracting tourists for the thrilling sport. VGV resort in Vizag is providing sky dive simulator. The simulation gives an accurate feeling of skydiving without actually doing it.

For Kayaking in Rishikonda Beach, an amount of Rs 350/- is charged which includes tea, snacks and organizer charges. Kayaking in Mangamaripeta Beach charges Rs 200/- for registration. Kayaking is done on Every Sunday from 2:30pm.Individuals need to bring a change of clothes & a carry bag to take back wet clothes.

• Livein Adventure offers scuba diving, paragliding, skydiving, banana ride,surfing, skiing, kayaking, surfing & more. It charges Rs 5000 for scuba diving, Rs 200 for kayaking in back water of Mangamaripeta & Rs 300 for kayaking in Rushikonda & Ramakrishna Beach.

• Vizag Hover Club associated with Andhra Pradesh Tourism works on creating a complete water sport option Vizag.
